Katrine Køster Holst (b. 1979)

Køster Holst (1979 Aarhus) lives and works in Norway. She is a graduate of Design School Kolding DK (1999-2003) and Bergen Art Academy (2003-2006).

PhD candidate (2014-2019) at the Oslo Academy of the Arts. In the fellowship project Minerals and Natural Phenomena - Artistic expression through rule-based exploration, I examine how ceramic art can be developed through techniques that use nature's basic principles for shaping. The surveys are based on many years of experience in the ceramic field. Key questions in the project are:

How does the form grow, move and disappear in the landscape over time and through natural processes such as erosion, sedimentation and weathering? What conditions does a form's core bind to its surface? What is my emotional connection to the camp and the landscape about?
