May Bente Aronsen (1962)

Aronsen is one of our most innovative textile artists. She works with monumental formats that relate actively to the space and architecture. The material is usually wool felt, and the work is characterized by precision and technical finesse. Sharp-cut shapes and pierced surfaces form structures and surprising spaces. For outdoor projects where textiles are not suitable material, she works with other techniques and different materials such as metal and wood. She has had a large number of exhibitions, and art in the public space in Norway and abroad.

She has received the Craft Art Award, Nordic Award in Textiles and Prince Eugene's medal.
